Vitamin A (beta-carotene)

Vitamin A is a fat-based vitamin. Its most known for its role in the eye but is also involved with gene transcription.1 It has some antioxidant properties and in one study where serum alpha-tocopherol, beta carotene, and selenium were tracked in a number of Finnish individuals found that a “low antioxidant level is a risk factor for RA (rheumatoid arthritis).”2
