Vitamin E

Vitamin E is a strong antioxidant. Oxidation plays a central role in inflammation in which ROS (reactive oxygen species) attack cellular tissue like cartilage. Antioxidants give reactive oxygen species something to attack other than cells.  One study found that Vitamin E supplementation “prevented joint destruction, as measured by qualitative and semiqualitative analyses.1
